First Wildcard

When do you think to play your first wildcard of the season and what's your strategy behind?

Mostly I've played my first WC during the second international break in GW 7 or so. Two weeks time to tinker, most teams are settled with their formation, able to deal with injuries which can happen on international duty.

Last season I played it in GW 16. This helped me a lot to keep my second WC until March/April for the double gameweeks. I think this could be a good strategy as the rules for the second WC have changed last season.

Everything depends how you get out of the starting blocks. I will keep an eye on ownership this season and won't ignore players on form as I did with Vardy, Kane and others last year.

Last season I had planed to keep my wildcard but was kind of forced to play it early (well GW5 as far as I remember) and the early wildcard was probably the best thing I did all season long. It really depends on the start of the season and on how many of the bandwagons you have in your initial team. What I do not do is setting up my team just for the first three GWs...
